"I'm not currently doing nothing wrong."

Woman tased, arrested after not wearing mask at Ohio football game.

An Ohio police officer tased and arrested a woman on Wednesday after she did not wear a mask at an eighth-grade football game, officials. A video circulated online appears to show the officer handcuffing the woman after she refuses to put on a mask at the game in Logan, Ohio.

The three-minute-and-34-second video starts shows an encounter between the woman and the officer, who tells her to “Put your hands behind your back.”
“I will not put my hands behind my back,” she responds. “I’m not currently doing nothing wrong.” Approximately two minutes later, the officer tases the woman, gets her into the handcuffs and drags her away from the stands.

Logan-Hocking Schools Superintendent Monte Bainter told The Hill in a statement that the woman was asked to follow the mask policies of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the athletic facility and refused. “The attendee refused to do so and consequently was asked to leave by the attending law enforcement officer,” he said. “After resisting the request to exit the premises, the individual was apprehended at the discretion of the attending law enforcement officer.”

Logan Athletic Director Theresa Schultheiss told the Times that 300 people attended the game and only two individuals, the arrested woman and another woman with her, were “having issues with compliance.”

I am sure they thought that people would be outraged she was arrested. I say it is about time they started doing that.

2. Hmmm, "tasing somebody for not wearing a mask."

Well, how about snuffing the very life out of somebody for 8 minutes and 46 seconds for supposedly passing a counterfeit $10 bill? Or choke-holding somebody to death for selling a cigarette? Or shooting someone seven times in the back for who knows what, and in front of their children.

I don't know what the law is in Ohio (in my state, police are not arresting people despite a mask mandate, although in my city compliance is very high).

But that's not my point. I'm interested in the turnabout is fair play aspect of this encounter. How do you like it when a black officer uses excessive force on a white person?

She is not being tased for not wearing a mask, she is being tased for resisting arrest and non cooperation with an officer.

She could have put the damn mask on, and then it’s over.

The arresting officer will lose his job.

All charges will be dropped against the woman arrested, including resisting arrest.

There will be no charges brought against the woman in the black shirt who was interfering with the officer.

The city, county, and state authorities will apologize to the woman arrested.

The woman arrested will be paid an undisclosed sum from the taxpayer coffers for her inconvenience.

Nobody will say that the woman arrested would have been fine if she had just followed the officer's orders.

Interfering with a peace officer, interfering with an arrest. She was asked to wear a mask and then when she refused was asked to leave, she refused to leave, that's why she was detained.

She's luck the officer was professional and had a lot of patience.

...that she didn't know if he was a REAL officer? One guess as to why she would think that.

11. I'd say the main problem these women had was following a black officer's orders.

Same for all the resisting, all the way out the door.

You don't get to play if you don't follow the rules--put in place to protect you, ya nimwits!

It's important to clarify that her arrest wasn't from not wearing a mask. You can't just sit there and ignore a police officer when he asks you to leave. You are trespassing and creating a disturbance at that point--the property owners want you gone. Arguments are over. He then has the duty to haul your ass out, arrest you, etc.

16. We went through the same sort of thing with "seat belt rules" in cars.

Laws that were passed about you must wear a seat belt while in a car. Now everyone wears them, &
puts them on immediately. Safe thing to do..Another example...bicycle helmets....At first who wore one?
and why wear one?...
.............Now, everyone wears one..including children, and always!!!...I have lived near a bike trial for
over 30 years....That trail also contains a walking trail next to it. So I have been walking there for a
long time. At first, in the late 80s, no one wore a bike helmet. NOW EVERYONE WEARS A HELMET.

and no one knows how many deaths were prevented by wearing helmets...thanks for reading this...

Stuart.
