(7,263 posts)I was five and still remember watching this live on a tiny black & white TV at my Gramma's, I didn't understand his father's assassination, but I understood another little kid trying to cope, and stood up in the living room and saluted too...
This little girl has forever etched herself into my memory - she is who I am fighting for.

MLK & RFK were also very painful.

This nation is supposed to belong to HER, to the future generations and to hope and a more perfect union. I can't see it right now. I can't feel it. All I can do is cry while holding my head and asking myself "how did it come to THIS?"
Breonna Taylor. Ruth Bader Ginsburg. That beautiful little girl. How can we go on in a country that so clearly hates them all? that so clearly does not value them or see them as equals or as our collective future for humanity?
2020 is crushing my soul and squeezing the life out of me and that picture broke me. Completely.

(5,733 posts)All pictures, so inspiring! I just watched the video of little Angelica Hale - I had not seen it. What a story, what a voice. Now I have to go wash my face before driving into town! As a mom, I felt every fear her parents had and every moment of their little girl's triumph.
RGB's life and legacy have not truly ended; she will continue to inspire so many others and continue to do so much good!
