11. I know, they call themselves "News", but are on a cable channel

They are not subject to the same types of regulations as ABC or NBC are... And they have been sued previously for lying in their reports. Fox's defense was that they are an "entertainment" channel. They cannot be held to the same account as other news agencies because they are entertainment and they are a cable channel. On the other hand, they advertise themselves as News and maintain that they are "Fair and Balanced". They are placed on T.V.'s across the nation in business venues as a news program for public consumption.

So, they maintain in the court of law that they are an entertainment newsie program much like Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert are, and then advertise themselves as a real news program to the Nation like they are serious journalists and people do interview on their programs as if the "reporter/ or anchor" are actual journalists. Most, I believe, have journalist credentials. It is amazing that they are allowed to continue to falsely advertise themselves as "News" and defend their lies as "entertainment"... They probably paid off the Judge, but really, how are they not supposed to be a joke. I think its time we treat them as the "Entertainer" they claim to be. Its way past time for people who take issues seriously and have the best interest of the Nation into account, to refuse to go on the "entertainment news channel" and if they do, make the claim that they are agreed to appear on this "entertainment channel" to try and straighten out the lies the "entertainment channel" is allowed to tell viewers because they aren't an actual News Channel.

anymore. I literally ignore that channel on my system as if it doesn't exist. I understand completely and cannot understand why anyone would continue to watch this channel. It's so blatant it's laughable. I understand, Opihimoimoi, trust me, I get it.

They need to just change the name of the network.

either. It's seems to have started changing in a big way in the 80's with Reagan. We just think differently and believe in honesty and "fairhandedness". They don't...period.
