Police say they have arrested one suspect and found a large knife near the scene. The attack coincides with the start of a trial for the alleged accomplices in a 2015 attack on the magazine's offices.
At least two people were seriously wounded in a knife attack in central Paris near the former offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Friday, police said.
French prosecutors said they are investigating the attack as a possible case of terrorism.
A weapon described as a machete or a meat cleaver was found at the scene, two police sources told Reuters news agency.
