miscalculation if they do go with ACB, because they probably could have won some votes with it had they gone the other way.

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, I don't think Trump gets much decision in these nominations. These are handpicked by Heritage and signed off on by Mitch. Go against that and maybe all the sudden your nominee gets stalled.
