Just a little bit ago on Nicolle Wallace's show, Joyce Vance spoke about her father-in-law
He sat on the 11th Circuit bench, one level below the Supreme Court.
He was strongly opposed to the death penalty based on his own morality and his religion.
Over his tenure he had many death penalty cases that came before him. Each time, she said, he would put on some overalls and weed his front lawn by hand. He would agonize over it, but each time he did his job as fairly as possible, no matter how wrenching to him personally.
She appeared to be getting emotional as she related this. As she was, so were we as we watched.
She was speaking about Amy Coney Barrett.
