Drumpf's Unkindness Turning Red States Blue

Election 2020: Trump's support from Catholics and evangelicals is dropping. They fault his unkindness.

Many religious voters have woken up to the fact that Trump simply lacks basic Christian kindness, and they are looking for an off-ramp.

President Donald Trump's attacks on American service members are just the latest example of how mean-spirited the president can be. But his subsequent denial that he said the things he did demonstrates that he understands that disrespect and indecency can go too far, at least in an election year.

What Trump may not fully realize is that his general tendency to be unkind may have already cost him the election.

My organization has found in an extensive survey of religious voters in five swing states that Trump's unkindness is correlated with significant defections from the president. And the pattern is strong enough that it could well mean the difference in these states' going red or blue.

1. A Recent Poll Showed a 20 Point Swing to Biden By Catholics

That huge defection from Trump may be influenced by Biden being a Catholic. Regardless it's an impressive move. Trump won Catholics by 16 points or so in 2016 and now Biden is leading with them by 4.

Treasonous, Murdering Psycho in the WH.. but I'll take it!

Grateful that they've heard about trump's opinion on the Military. Sometimes I wonder if the news gets out enough to the mainstream that we know about on DU.

As a Catholic kid in the 60's I thought the Catholic Faith was so wonderful: and, it was for me. Nuns/Brothers were compassionate, there was a focus on Jesus's works, helping the poor, and being good. I was lucky to see only the good and not disillusioned by the bad, and it was really bad, with rampaging child abuse, overbearing Patriarchy, and weird obsessions.

My family is still Catholic too and most are big Trump Humpers. So much for being heads-on-straight Catholic.

I place that in quotations because "unkindness" is a term that hardly begins to define his abhorrent words and deeds. We've had over four years of his "unkindness." It isn't something new. Best that some people are waking up this side of Election Day, and not the other.

so delusional that he thinks he is basically loved by everybody all over the world except a few "socialist Dem haters" and reporters.
