have a revised ACA ready to go ASAP? Putting into law with all the provisions and more protections and a way for the Feds to seed it into action with good supplements to working families and the poor int what it should do. Take that money away from building that wall and building more weapons. We ought to be able to save enough funds from not haiving to pay Trump for his golf trips and the his family's trips at government expense to fund at least six months to a year of new costs.

(9,336 posts)The important thing is they should hold it as a threat over anyone who even makes a peep about repealing ACA. A threat that ACA is certain to be replaced with something even more popular. Something that will make them political losers with the American voters.

Why it is that Americans have been so convinced that health "insurance" is a good idea, is beyond me. We are the most brainwashed population in history.
Anyone that understand how insurance works knows that health insurance is a losing bet, and that's why no other advanced country on earth relies on such a thing to cover health costs for their citizens.
I'm sorry, but I am not in favor of keeping things the way they are merely to save the jobs of the thousands of people who work in that business.
For fucks sake, keeping people healthy and caring for the sick and injured should NOT be a profit making venture.
Sorry...yelling into a fan, I guess.

(53,776 posts)Many Americans have to be educated to wean them away from the idea that "health insurance" shouldn't exist. That the nation should take care of the health of its citizens. Once Dems win the WH and Senate while keeping the House, then we can do universal coverage for alland that most likely shouldn't be Medicare for All as Medicare as now constituted only pays 80% of costs.
