NYT/Siena Poll: Biden Leads Nationally 49% to 41%.

Yet if the pandemic, economic collapse and increasingly tense racial justice protests have upended life for many Americans, they have done little to reshape a presidential campaign that polls show has been remarkably stable.

Mr. Biden is leading Mr. Trump, 49 percent to 41 percent, the Times survey shows, propelled by his wide advantage among women and Black and Latino voters and by his gains among constituencies that strongly favored the president in 2016, including men and older voters. Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump are tied among men, with each garnering 45 percent.

The former vice president appears notably stronger among college-educated white voters than Hillary Clinton did in 2016. Mr. Biden is winning 60 percent of white women with college degrees, compared with 34 percent for Mr. Trump, and he is beating the president among men with college degrees, 50 percent to 45 percent. Four years ago, according to exit polls, Ms. Clinton won college-educated white women by only seven percentage points and lost college-educated white men to Mr. Trump by 14 points.

Once we get through the debate, that should do it. Hopefully things go well for Biden Tuesday.

All I remember with Hillary was the way he followed her around the stage and got in her face. I hope he's prevented from doing that this time.

He will not put up with his BS because he will know exactly what to expect. And there is no way Joe will let him stalk him on stage. I honestly think Joe will be prepared for him this time.

he was antagonistic and narcissistic, and laughable. He stood out in the huge crowd because he was even more absurd than most of them.
And even then, he suddenly chickened out and refused to go on one debate, i remember.

The same shtick won't work now on one on one. And the debates with Clinton, he used his nasty behavior to shock. Clinton won the debates, but his base thrilled to his misogyny and aggression. It won't work again. He's too confused and literally can't talk about anything but himself now.

The shock value is gone now, and he's got nothing else. His best hope is to make it such a shitshow that Wallace and Biden are just rendered silent while he rants.

9. Wallace is solid and imo won't lose control of the debate.

re Hillary - she won all of the debates, especially the first one where even the alt-right sites said Trump got destroyed. The debate where Trump was 'looming' over her then took over the narrative and is what we remember. Which goes to show how it's not about any one of these debates but about moments that define the narrative.

Joe has to simply look presidential and energetic and be ready for the attacks likely to come (his team should just read social media, as Trump takes most of his ideas from there and Fox) and have a few memorable moments.

10. Yes, he did. His performances looked bad to us because we were looking for logic and reason.

But his status with the R's went up with the debates. They were apparently looking for something else.

...that Trump can even garner 41%? I doubt I'll ever look the same way at people again knowing that despite all that has happened so many still support him...
