(53,410 posts)It was heartbreaking when he won. Its even worse now, but we have learned something. A lot actually. As individuals as well as a nation. Especially this year!
We had to see it to believe it. Covid 19 has ripped the wool from our eyes.

(3,635 posts)Even on RW sites they said he lost badly.
She went after his taxes, his corrupt business practices, his racism/sexism, ties to Putin, etc.
The problem is the second debate became what defined the narrative, where he was 'looming' over her.
Her campaign team overall was weak though, they thought they 'had it' and didn't do much to knock Trump out like he needed to be. It's something I worry a little about also with the Biden camp as well, it has a similar dynamic. The difference is Trump has a record to defend and there are 200k dead due to his lies. Biden also is white man with an appeal to culturally conservative whites, while Hillary is disliked (sexism) by the same demographic.

(53,061 posts)When I met the doctor he started the process of a differential diagnosis.
"Did it hurt to swallow or to move my neck"?
"Can you sleep all night or do you wake up sweating"?
I understood what he was doing and was quite excited to see how a doctor does his job.
Probably mumps he said but will run some tests.
"Can you give us a specimen? Can you . . .( looks at my mom and asks) what do you call it?"
"Tinkle" mother answers.
On the way home my mother asks me why I am so quiet as I am always talking.
"This doctor finished high school , college and doctor school right?"
"Right"
"How could he finish all those schools and not know what that "tinkle" is called "tinkle"?
My mother, normally very serious, laughed all the way home. All afternoon she called her friends and there was always a howl of laughter.
I continued to think that adults were very weird and was very suspicious of the doctor and refused to be taken in by his tongue dispensers that he made into airplanes with a rubber band.
