The Bamboo Lounge was Sonny Bunz' nightclub in Goodfellas. He brought Paulie in as a partner in the establishment; Paulie bankrupted the place then had it burned to the ground for insurance money.

Right now, Trump is Paulie. I suspect he knows he's not going to get reelected and he can't use the Supreme Court to override the will of the voters, so since he's already bled the country dry he's doing everything he can (appointing a religious zealot to the Supreme Court, fomenting insurrection, stirring up doubts about the legitimacy of the election process) to burn it to the ground.

This makes the issue relevant to average Americans. We all contribute, and this guy who is (supposedly) president does not. He’s not just a cheater; he’s cheating the country he’s taken an oath to serve.

I hope the people in my state of Illinois are watching, because the big referendum question on our ballots this November is a proposal to change the state’s Constitution by changing the income tax rate to a graduated scale rather than the long-standing flat tax. It’s called the Fair Tax initiative, and 97% of citizens will pay the same or less; the big time money movers will have to pay more. Nothing could be more convincing than seeing DT’s tax payments, which I can bet 97% of people who pay taxes paid way way more than he.
