A bit of sadness for in the sport of baseball.

A great player from my Kansas City Royals is retiring. Alex Gordon has played his last game in the Major League. He was pro in so many ways. He knew whatever it took, but always was gracious in what he did and how he played the game. I watched him play for another of favorite team, the Cornhuskers. He will be missed on the field, but not in the memories he gave me over the years. Thanks #4, you’re one the greatest in my mind.

So sad to see a consummate pro take his last bow. He seems to be the last link to the championship teams of 2014/2015. Definitely will be missed.

Thanks for the memories, Alex!

...and a valuable member of a championship team. Not quite of Cooperstown quality, but almost. He's certainly on my all-Royal team...

... many's the night we sat in the stands and watch you make unbelievable catch after unbelievable catch, slamming your body on the ground, against the fences and into the stands. Those plays were only topped by your at bats, especially the solo homer to tie the score in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series. Many Royals players (Hoz, Moose, Whit, etc.) looked up to you as a teammate and a leader in the clubhouse. Enjoy your retirement and your wonderful family. But we'll miss you.
