If Trump's cult members found out that Trump was raping their children, they would ...

give their lives defending him from law enforcement.

Basically Waco on steroids

So don't think for a moment that this tax story will stop them from worshiping Trump, they're too far gone for that.

How they'd gotten a hold of the story, if doing so had broken even the slightest real or imagined technicality of the law, would for them be the most infuriating thing, for which the reporters and publishers should be executed for treason.

But it does matter. Legally. Politically. And it matters because it is the beginning of the end of the Trump family business. This will destroy him and his family. They are done.

every thing that emerges turns more people away from him. some will die still worshiping him, but not all of them. I've read several anecdotes of people turning just in the past week or so, including here on DU.

There was a yogi in Massachusetts who sexually abused a disciple. When she reported this to her husband, he ordered to leave the ashram without her children who also believed the guru who said she was lying. Years later, the guru admitted the truth after several other victims came forward.
Trump supporters are the same as this woman's husband.

I agree 100%. He's their Jim Jones, their David Koresch, their Marshall Applewhite (Heaven's Gate - San Diego).

It literally - not figuratively, not symbolically, but LITERALLY would not matter what he does. It's been said time and time again, it's truly a cult. They are brainwashed and there's no salvaging them....

This is going to lose him some votes from that group, but probably not all that many. Of course he's never going to lose his rabid Christian voters, the ones who believe he was sent by God. Their support for him is religious in nature, and therefore is not rational by definition.

The point is all the people who voted for him for other reasons. They might not be all that loyal to the Liar-in-Chief.
