and celebrated my birthday yesterday with my 88 year old parents. Socially distanced, outside, time limited. It's the first time they have been able to escape their retirement community since the start of COVID. (I'm pretending my birthday was yesterday - the day we celebrated - since yesterday's gift - Trump taxes - was far better than the gift on my real birthday, the day before, S Ct nominee Barrett)

Hoping my father's birthday gift will be better . . . he turns 89 on December 14 (the day of the electoral college vote).

Kinda sad, jumping up and down flashing “partay” signs at that age.

60s-80s is Gen X.

I'm more sad about the actual partying, indoors, no elbow room,no masks.

Interesting that the bartenders are wearing masks and/or face shields.

The customers are idiots. It’s so weird, like they think the virus is “over” all of a sudden. I saw a car from a local college the other day with a sticker that said - We survived Covid, Class of 21.

Just bizarre.

Where I live it's the almost exclusively the oldsters who refuse to wear masks and maintain distance, and complain incessantly about the restrictions.

That area is blue and full of great people. Not sure what’s going on in that bar. Could it be tourist in mid-September? Maybe.

At this point, it’s all good. Please kill yourselves faster. The sooner we bury you, the sooner those remaining can follow common sense precautions universally, and get this thing done with.
