(34,102 posts)and celebrated my birthday yesterday with my 88 year old parents. Socially distanced, outside, time limited. It's the first time they have been able to escape their retirement community since the start of COVID. (I'm pretending my birthday was yesterday - the day we celebrated - since yesterday's gift - Trump taxes - was far better than the gift on my real birthday, the day before, S Ct nominee Barrett)
Hoping my father's birthday gift will be better . . . he turns 89 on December 14 (the day of the electoral college vote).

I'm more sad about the actual partying, indoors, no elbow room,no masks.

(51,308 posts)Interesting that the bartenders are wearing masks and/or face shields.
The customers are idiots. Its so weird, like they think the virus is over all of a sudden. I saw a car from a local college the other day with a sticker that said - We survived Covid, Class of 21.
Just bizarre.
