(15,539 posts)I was appalled, but that seems to be the state I'm in every time I read how much grifting this family is doing off our taxpayer monies.
By the way, that picture is just plain creepy.

(50,557 posts)As is the "$75,000 for hairstyling" thing.
The IRS says items that can be used both for business and personal use are not deductible as business expenses. Only items that are for exclusive business use can be deducted.
Hairstyling, clothing and makeup are three "dual use" things that are always non-deductible.
If Obama had done this shit, he would have been impeached, convicted by a unanimous vote, and carried to the IRS Enforcement Division in a brown paper bag. But Trump? No, that would never happen.

(50,557 posts)The IRS will allow cosmetic surgery to be deducted IF it is medically necessary, and "to make my daughter more attractive to me" doesn't count as a medical necessity. For example, one of my troops in Berlin needed to get his nose fixed because it was impairing his breathing. The Army did it, but if he was a civilian he could have written it off his taxes.
