Remarkable new motion by grand juror in Breonna Taylor case calls for disclosure of grand jury records. Grand juror says KY AG is using grand jury as "shield" & public should know the "full story and absolute truth of how this matter was handled."

(2,748 posts)Grand jury proceedings are supposed to be secret. I wonder if releasing the transcript is even possible? The prosecutor will probably fight this, saying it would be prejudicial to the police officers involved.
I think I heard that a different grand jury could be seated, hopefully with someone different presenting the case?
I agree that if the prosecutor had wanted a serous indictment, he would almost certainly have gotten it, due to the way the grand jury is structured.

(19,852 posts)the grand jury was not presented the full set of evidence. For example, lawyers fro Breonna Taylor's family have info that grand jury was only given evidence that one person in the apartment building heard the police announce themselves. However, there were 10 other folks in the apartment building who didn't hear the police announce themselves.
