Perhaps the testimony will be released--but it privileges the psychological distress of one juror over the presumed future psychological distress of up to 11 others (who, apparently, are assumed to agree in silence or whose rights don't matter).

But rewriting common law for a few centuries would be hubris for SCOTUS, and overturn centuries of precedent based.

(I personally think that "accountability" here is a weasel word. It means one thing in the text and another to most reading it. Let's hope the judge isn't that easily manipulated. No judge should be. And stay both a judge or even not entrusted as a ward to the care of a custodian.)
