...as shown on the HOME page of their website:
https://lincolnproject.us/news/the-urgency-of-defeating-trump-falls-to-all-of-us/
The president and his enablers have replaced conservatism with an empty faith led by a bogus prophet.
They don't hide their motives under any phony slogans, fake "plans", or divisive tactics. They're not promoting their own platform, policies, or programs.
They simply WANT TRUMP DEFEATED!
They may be republicans, but what Democrat would have a problem with that?
The bottom line is we're all in this together, without some republican votes we lose. That would be catastrophic. At this dark time in our history, we don't need us as their friends, but we need them as allies in this "war", just as we welcomed the assistance of the Soviet Union in WWII, knowing full well that once the war was over we'd be enemies again.

(6,853 posts)Because the Lincoln Project is outstanding because of their media creationstheyre superior entertainment, superior interest, superior look than the competitors.
But four years is an eternity in TV, graphics, style, and entertainment. If The Lincoln Project of 2020 is still the same in 2024 theyre sunk. They must evolve, they must entertain new ideas, they must be liberal. LOL
If they are, welcome to the circus. Its a big tent.
If they revert to becoming Republican assholes in 2024 spouting propaganda against Biden, liberal media types will defeat them. We are just better at that sort of thing, style is a our strength.
So make allies of them now, they may not even be around in 2024.

Your response here indicates you're projecting, engaging in your own form of "purity" insistence on what can and cannot be criticized.

I did hear them tho discuss how disappointed they were that rush limbaugh hasn't joined them and how they were influenced by him when they were young. So yeah, they are republicans. Blows my mind that they said in their podcast they believed rush could join them. They also talked about how much they respect RBG and don't think trump should choose the next Justice.
Their podcasts do fascinate me.
I remember hearing Miles Taylor worked for cheney and he is a TLP person now. He loves cheney. He can't stand trump. Yeah, I hate them both myself. But Miles sees democrats as people with different political positions and trump as someone who is trying to destroy our country. So tho he doesn't agree with a lot of Joe's political positions, he's fighting like hell to get him elected. Yeah, it's still disgusting about the Iraq war for no reason and him being totally ok with that. It's fascinating.

(42,650 posts)One of the true dangers of Trump is that he is so shit, and the far right is in such ascendancy, that the political axis of the nation is being slid even more to the right as we go headlong across the centre line trying to grab up as many 'moderate' Rethugs to oust Trump and claw back the Senate.
Its like a drug, we may well get addicted to that voting bloc, and I can easily see a shedload of crap being accepted in order to not lose them, with the 'Omg we cannot ever have a Trump again and we will have another Trump if we lose the centre right' gaslighting excuse used like a sledgehammer.
I have seen the metamorphic change on social media for ages wherein certain cliques, randos, swarms, and influencers (who claim to be Democrats or at least support Democrats) have gradually changed their framing from 'it's a centre-left nation' to 'it's a centrist nation' to now 'it's a centre-right nation'.
I truly hope I am dead wrong on this all, as a 'centre-right' nation (in the American sense of 'centre-right', which is so artificially skewed as to be pretty far right wing or even radical right (on certain issues) in most all other advanced Western nations) will be a dystopian nightmare.

(7,170 posts)We can be the nice, caring party when it comes to our policies for the American citizen but we can no longer be that when it comes to treating other political parties. We were blindsided by our kindness in the last election for the most part. Letting it happen again would be a dereliction of duty to our country and all the people. I love our leaders, Pelosi, Biden, AOC, Sanders, the Clinton's, the Obama's. But they played the wrong game while the rethugs played a different one that led us to where we are now. It cost us way more than 200,000 dead and counting. It also cost us the soul of the country. I certainly am not blaming them, I would have done the same. Now though we need part of our party to be a "war party" and we need to listen to them. It's time to learn from our mistakes.
Eko.

(25,128 posts)you talking about?" More Americans align with Democrats than Republicans, support for Roe v Wade has reached an all time high, majority of Americans want access to health care, 60% of Americans say the winner of the next election should fill Ginsburg's seat. "So, our country isn't so much center-right as Mitt Romney is center-wrong."
Republican voters don't even like Republican policies, that's not why they vote for them. The party is a post-policy transnational criminal organization at this point. The country is not center-right and Democrats are not going "headlong across the centre line." The 2016 Democratic platform was the most progressive in history and so is this year's. They need majorities in Congress and the presidency. Why would anyone think Democrats wouldn't do what the American people want?

That's why none of the nine posts you've directed at me about this today have contained anything even remotely resembling proof that they have. They haven't even commented on her at all. Anywhere. At all.
You can't find a single link showing the Lincoln Project or any of its members even mentioning Amy Coney Barrett's name much less stating opposition to her nomination. Not one.
And the reason you can't find one is because no such link or comment exists. Anywhere.
So you can keep on insulting me, taunting me, calling me Sport, trying to make it about "my guy" Bernie. Whatever. You can do all that but what you can't do is find any comment from the Lincoln Project opposing the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett.

(2,680 posts)I find it encouraging that they've gone in one hundred percent to bring down this existential threat to our country, putting their money, time, energy, talent, etc. at risk to help save us. Longtime friends and business relationships are undoubtedly ruined, and financial backers are highly likely to blacklist them. That makes them heroes in my book.
I don't think it's forever kumbayah with them, but I consider them the opposition and not the enemy. They share our fundamental belief in the ideals of America, a shining beacon on a hill, with government of, by, and for the people.
If they have made the link (and how could they not) between the systematic propaganda from the 1500 conservative talk radio stations and Fox News as what fueled the rise of Trump and his enablers, then maybe after the election there's a huge challenge that they can help with, to dismantle the disinformation system that led to his rise?
That's my goal, to convince them that they can't stop with defeating Trumpism because the elements in place that brought about his rise are still here. That the big task after that is to reshape our media system so it supports a vibrant, healthy democracy.

They are not friends, they do not have sound judgement, and they will fuck us as well as anyone once theyre back in power.
Im getting real suspicious of those effusively praising and defending people while forever criticizing progressives. I cannot wait til Jan 21st, when we will suddenly need to pass policies to keep these people in the fold. Then anyone who objects can be called wailing purists by the moderates who will make nice with Republicans while disdaining a good portion of the Democratic base.
