3. Funny how she runs to the Dems for help.

She knows she's got no love from her own party.

She's talking about capital gains, which authors don't get. They're 1099 contractors. They get advances from publishers then a certain percentage of sales. None of that is "capital gains" meaning money earned from investing capital and seeing a return.

All the GOP's tax cuts are on capital gains, everybody else is ignored. Coulter probably knows this and is sick of seeing her masters cash in while she foots the bill like a good dog. So now she's running to the other side for support.

What a toxic world she lives in.

The super-rich really don't give a shit about income tax rates, since so little of their wealth actually comes from having a job. What they REALLY care about is the capital gains tax rate and the inheritance tax. They wouldn't care if the poor saps like Coultergeist had to pay 60% in income tax.

By the way, is she talking about income taxes or about ALL the taxes she pays?

I figure she's pure 1099 commission person. That's all of her commission on book sales and whatever speaker's fees she gets for her speeches and TV appearances. I don't see her as old money or the investor class.

She may have investments, but stuff along the lines of 401K and IRAs like the rest of us working slobs.

5. not sure where she's getting this 50% number from

The top bracket for Federal taxes is 37% for anybody earning $518K+ (single, married its $622K+).

Is she combining that number with whatever she's paying in state taxes?

She lives in NYC, so the maximum state income tax is 8.82% (call it 9%) and that's if you are earning over a million dollars.

So at a maximum, presuming she really is a millionaire and taking advantage of no loopholes or deductions, she'd pay 46% of taxes.

This is all presuming none of her income comes from capital gains, which is probable since she's an author and speaker. All that is 1099 commission revenue.

7. She wouldn't pay 46% on ALL of her income

That's not how marginal tax rates work. The highest 37% bracket only applies to income over a certain level - NOT to all income.

Her effective tax rate would be lower than 46%.

9. True. But makes my point even more.

If 46% isn't possible, it has to be far lower. So she's making up this 50% number because that's what she does: Makes up nonsense and pretends she's an authority on nonsense.

10. 40 years of tax cuts for the rich

I’m all for eliminating all the tax loop holes including capital gains and real estate loopholes. I’d probably be ok with some reasonable mortgage and property tax deductions, but they should be capped.

Of course this lying, racist, piece of sh*t will object to any such increases. She’s just desperate for attention and money. Maybe bill maher can have her back on

She used taxes instead of income taxes.

She would pay far less in taxes if she didn't eat in restaurants all the time. Or live in an expensive home with high property taxes.

12. Why is she asking Democrats to change it? The Repugs are in charge (for now)

Is she trying to swing back to the left so she'll have some type of employment in the future or what?
