I'm in Texas which normally has limitations on getting one. We signed up for one strictly to piss off Dan Patrick. But I'm thinking of filling it and dropping it over at a precinct. I was going to vote early but...what do y'all think?
Fill this or vote early in person?

(39,343 posts)and if you die tomorrow when a tire falls off a 777 flying overhead and crushes you while you walk down the sidewalk, you can drift off to Nothingness, comforted in the knowledge that your vote will be dropped in the mail by your friend. If you live to Early Voting, you can cartwheel into the precinct and get your "I Voted" sticker and go home to watch returns.
That's my plan at least.

(171 posts)If you show up in person without your mail-in ballot, you will have to vote provisionally. I would fill it out and turn it in now...don't take a chance of car wreck, lightning strike, heart attack, Proud Boys terrorism, etc. etc.

(44,973 posts)Looks like TX will let you vote in person (early) if you bring your ballot to the polling place so they can cancel it.
"WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER I SENT AN APPLICATION TO VOTE-BY-MAIL; CAN I VOTE IN PERSON INSTEAD?
if you have already requested a Vote-by-Mail ballot, the short answer is yes, you can vote in person as soon as Early Voting starts on October 13, 2020. The process will be more streamlined if you bring your mail-in ballot with you to your polling place so you can give it to the voting clerk before casting your vote. If you dont have your ballot or never received it, you can still cast a provisional ballot. Your vote will be counted once the county determines it never received your mail-in ballot."
