I mean, if it was malfunctioning and oversimplifying things, "We are dilithium prospectors" could come out as something like "we look for things, make us go".

"Our ship broke" --> "We have suffered a critical malfunction"
"Please help us" --> "We respectfully request any assistance you can render"

Stands apart, it was the first serialized Trek. Excellent writing. Enjoyed it immensely. I also learned to love Voyager. They are all enjoyable.

during the 90's. I loved DS9 because it was a different contrast from Next Generation. I felt DS9 showed the darkness of the Star Trek universe and had more political conflict which I found interesting. Plus Sisko is my favorite captain because of his Machiavellian tactics. I didn't really like Voyager granted it got better during it's final 2-3 seasons.

On season 7 now. It has been so long since I last watched it that many of the episodes are new to me again. It is excellent.

Starting Voyager when I'm done with DS9.
