Trump was a no-show. You know those dolls that say random things when you pull the string? Trump sent one of those dolls onto the debate stage, a life-sized replica. It became obvious when the string got stuck.

Biden was in command of the facts and withstood trumps chaos. He stood up for both his sons and didnt resort to name calling.
He didnt let trumps belittling get to him. Called out trumps lies.

(41,936 posts)Had there been a debate I think he would have done very well anyway. He has facts and a policy, all of which was useless last night. He maintained sanity, respected the process as youd want someone serious about governing to do so he could communicate with the people, and he provided an important counterpoint to the madness on the other side of that stage.

(34,857 posts)That implies he just had to show up to win and I disagree. Biden hit back well and didn't let Trump bully him. Had the debate actually been a debate, I think Biden would have won on substance. But for what it was, Biden cleaned his clock by talking directly to the American people and offering a stark contrast to Trump's awfulness.
