TBH, individual intimidation might be a problem in Red households with all that fake Christian crap demanding that the man be the head of the household and the head of the wife, too.

Women got us in in 2018 and we definitely need the women's vote this year.

Yeah, they can show up, pretending to be tough guys.
But, nobody knows who voted for whom, except that voter.
So, why be intimidated?
Show up, keep your mouth shut, vote, go home.
They can't do anything to anybody, except try to look scary.
It's seems like being intimidated is a choice. If one refuses to be intimidated by ultimately powerless people, they won't be intimidated.

with assault weapons (which they can do in an open carry state) you'd be just fine?

Seriously, what are they going to actually do, except as the good Professor notes, "try to look scary"?

I absolutely plan on voting in person and getting there early, so if some asshole or group of them has a rifle or is open carrying at my polling place, I'm going to walk right up to him/them and ask what it is they are trying to prove.

Because I am not in the least bit fucking scared of people who are so terrified of other Americans that they feel the need to carry firearms with them to a voting place.

Fuck those assholes. Stand up to them. They aren't going to shoot anyone. Loudly make them look like the scared, anti-democracy dipshits they are.

What would they be going to do, shoot me? I go to the polling place with no signs or other evidence that I will vote in any particular way. Nobody should. You just walk past them and go in and cast your vote. If they speak to you, simply ignore them and continue on your way.

If threatened, I'd call 911 on my cell phone and wait for the police to arrive.

Trump's goons are cowards with guns, but they're not going to use them.

Just ignore them and vote.

I wouldn't wait until election day, cause who knows what Trump has in store.

And I can't do Straight Party Ticket either. So, more time voting in the deadly pandemic.

Here's how I see these fools showing up to mostly minority polling locations.

while the votes are being counted and threaten counters and/or destroy ballots.

There is certainly historical precedent:

This time they will be armed and have police support.

where votes are counted, like the Board of Elections and the like. Trump will signal outright attacks. Don't think he isn't capable and his followers more than willing to do so. We will see American blood spilled not since the Civil War in fighting for democracy against trump, putin and white supremacist.
