Minnesota GOP: He blew it. He did nothing to improve his standing with independents, women ...

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/518968-republicans-fret-over-trumps-self-inflicted-blows-at-first-debate

But Minnesota Republicans say the president’s best opportunity to keep the pressure on Biden in the traditionally blue state may have slipped through his fingers amid the shouting and name-calling at Tuesday night’s debate.

“Biden, especially in the first half of the debate, looked weak and it seemed that all the things Democrats worried about might come true,” said Amy Koch, a Republican and the former majority leader in the Minnesota state Senate. “But then Trump just overwhelmed and it was too much. It was over the top and rude and it felt desperate and bullying. He blew it. He did nothing to improve his standing with independents, women or suburban voters. In fact, he may have gone backwards with disaffected Republicans. He needed a strong performance and the opportunity was there and it was all lined up for him to knock it out of the park and he just whiffed.”

He just gave trump the rope to hang himself with.

Crafty, I'd say...

She’s not exactly unbiased. What’s telling is that she then explained how badly Trump did.

Still I agree Trump blew it. Trump is down in the polls. Trump is the incumbent. Most voters have already decided hell a lot have already voted. Trump really needed the debate performance of his life to get things competitive again.

He didn't. He didn't come anywhere close. I mean Trump is a loser. He is a loser as a businessman. He is a loser as a leader. He is a loser as a President. Why should it be a surprise that he was a loser tonight as well.

Was his best debate performance? No, but how could it be with Dolt 45 shouting from the sidelines. He did well considering the circumstances. Dump definitely blew it.

Trump will be interesting. Jim Hagedorn is running a tough re-elect against 2 time Iraq veteran and former DoD under Secretary Dan Feehan in the 1st CD.

Trump did Hagedorn's campaign no favors.

When a guy is pouring gasoline on himself, and grabbing for the lighter, you step back and let him self-immolate.
That's what Biden did.
That's not weakness. It's called intelligence.

They have to be fairly convincing debate losses, like Obama losing the first debate to Romney.

He had a few outbursts but they were still quiet and strong. I did notice some of his stuttering trying to come through a few times but he handled it smoothly like a pro. I am so proud of Biden.
