I'm both less and more nervous after last night

After last night I am about 99.99% sure that Trump is heading for a landslide defeat. I don't think anyone saying "anything can happen between now and the election", "the polls could be off", "there is still time for Trump to turn things around", or that there are "secret Trump voters" has any basis in reality. I believe Trump is virtually guaranteed to lose and possibly by even more than the polls are saying. So the outcome of the election is not of much concern to me at this point, and in that way I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief. And if you still feel on edge or like something could go wrong that's ok too. Nothing wrong with waiting and seeing.

However, I am now far far more concerned about how Trump and his supporters are going to react when he does lose. I think talk about him stealing the vote, manipulating the electoral vote through state legislatures, or that he will just refuse to leave and there's nothing we can do about it are all pretty unlikely. I do think however, there is a very high probability that Trump will just tell his supporters in some way to tear the country apart as revenge. I worry about of people are going to get hurt because Trump has lost what little mind he has left.

I think we are going to win, I have little doubt about that, and that Trump will be leaving the white house in January one way or another. But that time between now and inauguration day are going to be very dangerous for a lot of people.

have a damn good reason or a damn good paycheck-- neither of which seems to be around in adequate supply.

Trump people were silent today in my social media and I think they are preparing themselves to lose.

I make some rounds each day to various online conservative discussion groups to see what is going on with the other side. Besides sporadic comments about Biden somehow cheating, no one is saying anything about the debate. Most don't seem like they want to talk about it and I think they are deflated after telling themselves for months "just wait until the debates then Trump will pull ahead of Biden". I think reality hit them right in the balls last night. Only the most diehard, delusional Trump supporters are still under the impression that Trump is doing great and heading for a landslide victory over Biden.

the Klan could hold a rally and attract 20,000 citizens to Madison Square Garden.
90 years ago there were politicians, journalists and thousands of citizens drumming up support for the new Chancellor in Germany, convinced that we should side with Germany over France and Britain if war came.

We overcame those horrible moments to arrive at a time in the 1960s when the President could sign a Civil Rights Act, and in the 2000s when we could elect a black Democrat as President.

First step - defeat Trump. Then, restore civility and reason once his legacy is wiped clean from our culture.

actually be brave enough or stupid enough to start anything violent. What comes to mind is that toothless torch waving neo Nazi display in Charlottesville. They were so sure everyone would be trembling in fear only to fold completely within a few days. They made big news when Heather Heyer was killed by one of them, but their cowardice was in plain sight after only one day. There were even some who literally cried in protest over being treated so badly.

There may be one or two that are mentally disturbed who may cause some serious harm, but I really think they’re cowards for the most part. Trump may think he’s got an army ready to kill for him but the FBI already know their names.

I don’t think their actions, if it even comes to that, will be what Trumps wants. No blue state Democratic Governor will put up with it and they aren’t interested in shooting up any red state. They live in a shoot em up fantasy.
