The County has a dozen or so in-person voting places open.
But I was at the County bldg. on other business.
PERFECT fall day.
Line just to get into the building for in-person voting was ~1/4 mile long.
Inside, voters go into a few lines of about 15-20 people.
I think there are 10 lines...? So 150 people inside the building?
No protesters.
Everybody masked and polite.
And not a single Sheriff or County Police officer to be seen.
As its supposed to be.
(But if this is a sign of what it could look like Nov. 3rd - vote early!!)

(58,785 posts)3. Wow to 1/4-mile line on 13TH DAY of early voting.
"Early voting begins Friday, Sept. 18, at the Fairfax County Government Center from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Voting will also be available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 19, and on Oct. 14-31."
Just looked that up. Thanks for the report from your part of the world, Grins.
"Nearly two weeks into early voting, Northern Virginia counties are still seeing thousands of people casting ballots daily, indicating a surge of voter enthusiasm as well as concerns about the mail and the pandemic."
Likely some, including southern VA, counties will be even worse when early voting finally starts in those.

in our state which will NOT allow absentee voting unless you have an excuse. I am planning a vacation day - I will NOT be denied my vote.
