THE FAMILY IS WORRIED BRAD WILL START TALKING: TRUMPWORLD PANICS OVER DEBATE FIASCO AS CAMPAIGN TURMOIL MOUNTS
snip . . .
Inside Trumpworld theres a view that the past week is an inflection point in the campaign. It started on Sunday night with the bombshell New York Times report that Trump paid just $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017. For Trump the Times story was worse than losing reelection, said the second Republican. If you had told Donald back in 2015 that his tax returns would be exposed and hed have all these investigations, I guarantee you he wouldnt have run.
As the Times story lit up cable news and Twitter, news broke that Trumps former campaign manager Brad Parscale had been taken into custody outside his Ft. Lauderdale home and hospitalized after threatening to commit suicide and allegedly beating his wife days prior. Police body camera footage showing an officer brutally tackling a shirtless, 68 Parscale to the pavement instantly became a visual metaphor for the chaos engulfing the Trump campaign. One campaign adviser I spoke with was shocked by the amount of force the police used to subdue and cuff Parscale. If Brad had been Black, there would be riots all over the country, the source said. (In fact, police have killed unarmed Black men in far less hostile situations.)
Parscales public meltdown happened while he is reportedly under investigation for stealing from the Trump campaign and the RNC. According to the source close to the campaign, the Trump family is worried that Parscale could turn on them and cooperate with law enforcement about possible campaign finance violations. The family is worried Brad will start talking, the source said.
In response the Trump campaigns communications director, Tim Murtaugh, said: Its utterly false. There is no investigation, no audit, and there never was.

(32,634 posts)Don't forget that the luxury yacht (and whatever else) is registered in her name, not his. Their grifting goes back to the campaign 4 years ago where it was so easy that they got really careless. Of course the Chump kiddies are in on it, they've probably taken more dough than Parscale has, but they're perfectly fine with letting him take the fall for everything.
We'll see.

(969 posts)they need a fall guy for all the money that is gone...Remember Melania friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff was one of the key planners of Donald Trump's inauguration and they tired to blame her for all the loss money from that fund...

But I guess the word "honest" isn't in the family vocabulary. And, too, this is the family that spawned that scintillating intellect Eric .........

(82,849 posts)But the way Trump keeps cashiering inspectors general and anyone else in government tasked with investigating irregularities and wrongdoing, the casual observer might conclude that Trump and his coterie are trying to cover over massive crimes.
We're going to find out.

(7,220 posts)I do think it's interesting that Brad got demoted (and not fired) after he got pwned by a bunch of teenagers on TikTok pretending to be going to the Tulsa superspreader event. Trumpy doesn't like to look bad, and 5000 actual attendees at his big COVID Comeback Tour 2020 looked baaaaaaad.
Something is up with that.

(13,569 posts)This has crossed my mind.
Parscale knows enough dirt on Trump that he might be afraid for his life. He should be. (Remember the helicopter crash with Trump execs aboard)
Being committed might be the easiest way to be safe for now.
