The ratings for the remaining debates will be dismal there's no point wasting any more time on them

Who will waste their free time watching Joe Biden, a moderator, and what is the equivalent of baby screaming on on an overseas flight that is sitting next to you

Which seems highly unlikely.

A pouty Trump quitting the rest of the debates is an even better outcome.

The problem is that Trump needs more than his base or he's toast. That's what makes this strategy a little odd.

There will still be tens of millions of Americans watching, and some will be making up their mind

This reminds me of all the nonsense that nobody has landlines anymore or nobody gets the newspaper anymore. Those numbers are likewise still huge. The conventional wisdom fluff is overreaction in comparison to prior numbers.
