(27,822 posts)Because the WH said so?
Not finding 'news' that emanates from this WH credible has nothing to do with conspiracies. It has to do with the fact that we already know they lie about everything - and have been doing so on a daily basis for the past four years.

(92,617 posts)and their news and sources are top rate
Hicks having COVID, and the long delay of trump having the results reported is not fake
In addition, this does them no favors. It discredits everything they have said

(27,822 posts)... after I see what unfolds over the next while. But for now, I'm not buying.
I need verifiable proof of anything that spews out of the mouth of this administration before I accept it as fact.

(92,617 posts)their whole credibility of minimizing it for the last year. Absolutely no advantage to hide it because they couldnt. The WH house doctor, the people doing the tests, and the precautions that have to be taken all of the WH caretakers
This should sink his campaign
As for Biden the podiums were well separated, and no doubt Biden and Jill will now be tested
What the WH is experiencing is what the whole country has been experiencing
This should hurt him badly in the election
NanceGreggs
(27,822 posts)... anything that will hurt him in the election. But I just don't trust anything coming out of this WH at first blush.
Bloomberg reporting it doesn't make it true. It would have to have come from a WH source - which, in my mind, makes it suspect.
At this point, I'm not saying it's a lie. But it's not like they haven't lied before.
Either way, we'll know soon enough.

(92,617 posts)tests, and the WH house keepers. Too many people are involved to hide it
Most important it hurts the republicans, not helps them
Sympathy? Sorry, for a person who has been minimizing COVID throughout, there isnt going to be much sympathy
Any further debates need to be carried out remotely, for President, and Vice President

(4,846 posts)Look, the stock market is going to be rocky tomorrow. US president getting COVID is not good news for the market. Do you think Trump wants to see the market drop a few thousand points when he wants to run on economy? Do you think they want COVID to be the front on the news?
torius
(1,652 posts)to pay off his debts. I'm not convinced it's a con but I don't think the stock market proves it's not. He could say he made a recovery or is asymptomatic and it would go back up, meanwhile he'd be buying at lower prices.
Claustrum
(4,846 posts)It would make sense if he gave up on re-election and getting in on a last money grab. But it's not an re-election con as some suggests here. A rocky stock market, a news cycle on COVID, none of it is good for his re-election.

He will be down for a very short period of time and then have a miraculous recovery. It will allow him to duck debates, duck the tax issues and claim he was always right.
Pure snake oil salesman bullshit.

Do you think if he REALLY has it, he would announce it??

No matter what, though, this is hardly good news or good PR for him. Will anyone notice further disarray in that WH, I wonder?

This is no advantage to him, and only shows what a sham his campaign is
