I hope trump recovers... I don't want him afforded the pomp and circumstance of a state funeral... I want to see him crushed at the polls and then face all the legal consequences of his felonious actions, including watching his kids convicted and sent to prison and his "empire" bankrupt.. dying is an easy out for him...

(25,902 posts)thinking about a state funeral for Trump. Oh, dear lord.
So I guess I should be wishing for Trump to survive, however long it takes, whatever is involved. Think about his children, gathered about his death bed. Hmmm. I wonder if he has the kind of trust work in place that will protect them. . . .
I am no where near as rich as trump, nor do I have his level of debt. A few years ago I redid my will and set up a new trust to take care of my wishes beyond the grave. My surviving son inherits everything, lucky him. Oh, and I have three bequests, one to my very best friend, the others to two charitable organizations that mean a lot to me.
Oh, and for all of you who don't yet have wills, GET ONE. Do NOT think that just because you are young, as in under age 90, you have lots of time. You don't. Make that will. Without a will, the laws in your state determine how your assets are distributed. Which may not be what you had in mind.
The best friend I've referenced above, does still not have a will, despite my pushing him on this topic very many times. I have told him over and over that if he dies without a will I will tell his surviving brother and sister that he promised me everything. In reality, he hasn't, and I would not try to take his meager estate. I do know where he would actually like his rather small estate to go to, but if he doesn't make it legal, it will not go that way.
I will probably never get my friend to make out a proper will, but to everyone one here who reads this, make a will. Even if you have very little, you really do want to have a say in how that pittance is distributed. And if you have more than a pittance, all the more reason to make a will.

(30,771 posts)We have had wills for a long time.
I have seen families fight and fracture over small and large estates. Greed is such a powerful emotion.

Both of our schools (because we aren't allowed to work in the same building) each have upwards of 2,100 students. Everything is virtual right now, but before the students come back for in person instruction in November, we plan on getting our wills done.

If you dont like the mask, youre really going to hate the ventilator.
After that I dont really care if he lives or dies, as long as Joe Biden is president.
Intubation, induced coma, feeding tube, foley catheter, sepsis, gangrene, MRSA, EVERYTHING!
Oh, and here's hoping he ends up with lack of oxygen to the brain long enough so he ends up with "ventilator brain."
I wish him the worst possible outcome. It isn't death. Death is too easy.

(5,345 posts)I'm looking at the bigger picture... at millions of his supporters. It's THEY who might learn a lesson that trump is incapable of grasping. Some of them MIGHT learn, perhaps, to embrace politicians who appeal to science. We have bigger issues moving forward than justice and revenge upon that orange monster... climate change foremost among them.
