Why is Chris Christie in the hospital "as a precautionary move?"

Isn't he taking a be from someone who is suffering from really bad symptoms? Has he shown any symptoms or is this just another move by the privileged few who can afford it?

No one "checks in" to a hospital, they're admitted.

Governor Christie
@GovChristie
In consultation with my doctors, I checked myself into Morristown Medical Center this afternoon. While I am feeling good and only have mild symptoms, due to my history of asthma we decided this is an important precautionary measure.

I also wonder about his health insurance. They shouldn't be paying a dime. It should all come out of his pocket, until he meets the insurance criteria.

Most facilities are not filled to capacity.

I also don't know why someone would check into a hospital unless they were exhibiting symptoms of some nature. After spending 15 days in the hospital back in August, it is far easier to isolate than tolerate treatment in a hospital where he will awakened every night for blood draws. listen to the machines beeping, and be connected to an IV so that it makes it difficult to go to the bathroom.

Though I wish this virus on no one, I’m not losing sleep over their fear.

I was scared too.

I asked my husband the same thing. Who can just check themself into a hospital? Unless he doesn’t have to rely on insurance. Hell, when you have a baby they kick you out in 24 hours. I thought someone had to say you were sick enough to be admitted. Seems wired to me.

Another good precautionary measure is wearing a mask.

Another good precautionary measure is social distancing.

Another good precautionary measure is not telling someone in a position of power to attack a person for wearing a mask, inspiring others to get sick.

Oh.

Oh.

Ohhh.

Is he hospitalized in NJ? I don't think their hospitals are at capacity right now - i.e. I don't think he's taking a bed from someone else.

That does not bode well for survival. He was a heart attack waiting to happen before the COVID.
