WASHINGTON For two years, William Barr has served President Trump with exemplary loyalty. Whether it came to Robert Muellers report about Russian electoral interference or last years impeachment trial, the U.S. attorney general always stood by the president, so much so that some wondered if he was acting more as the presidents private attorney than as the nations chief legal officer.
As other Cabinet members departed, voluntarily or under pressure, as rumors circulated that Trump might replace Mike Pence on the 2020 ticket, Barr remained a fixture in the Trumpian universe, articulating and justifying the presidents many grievances, whether against congressional Democrats or protesters in Portland, Ore.
And Trump repaid that loyalty with frequent references to our great attorney general.
Barrs immunity came to an abrupt end earlier this week, with the president criticizing the attorney general in astonishingly frank terms. To be honest, Bill Barr is going to go down as either the greatest attorney general in the history of the country or hes going to go down as, you know, a very sad situation, Trump told Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business.

(9,771 posts)He knows what he was hired for.
Not sure why he's not giving his evil boss what he wants. Don't tell me the Worst-AG-Ever-Barr-None has a scruple or two still sticking to him.

(60,010 posts)That was the whole point of dems holding all those hearings. They knew these guys would lie, and now it is
all documented for when sanity returns to gov't.
In fact, a lot of tax fraud is making the news for the last couple months. Pretty sure guilt and fear are
interrupting these guy's sound sleep. Jr. esp. has shone himself to be a chip off the ol blockhead, by
increased Fox monologues against the investigations.

(11,686 posts)each of his hand picked people would last. I knew the moment Barr made the slightest disagreement he would be on his way out.

(32,626 posts)other than having him murdered, although, that too. Lots of republicans prostituting themselves, and not out of fondness, or even fear of Donald. Someone's who have much bigger cajone's and bank accounts.

(28,349 posts)I keep waiting to hear that he's caught it.
I saw a video of Barr and Kellyanne close together, where Kellyanne whispered in Barr's ear, at length. This was at the Rose Garden Super-Spreader event.
I try to check every day to see if he has caught the virus. Kellyanne has it.
Barr's 70 years old, and obese, which plays against the virus. No idea what other health issues he may have.
If he's caught it: C'est la vie!
