Dr. Anthony Fauci did not consent to being featured in a new advertisement from the Trump campaign touting President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the nation's leading infectious disease expert told CNN his words were taken out of context.

"In my nearly five decades of public service, I have never publicly endorsed any political candidate. The comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials," Fauci said in a statement provided exclusively to CNN when asked if he agreed to be featured in the ad.
The Trump campaign released the new ad last week after the President was discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center following treatment for Covid-19. The 30-second ad, which is airing in Michigan, touts Trump's personal experience with the virus and uses a quote from Fauci in an attempt to make it appear as if he is praising Trump's response.

That's what Fauci is indicating. When Fauci is saying, "I don't know how anyone could do more," he was referring to health officials in general, not Trump's response.

It make it looks like Fauci approved of Trump's handling of the virus.

Alternatively, I 've only seen 2 of Biden's ad so far. One was from a PAC and the other featured Cindy McCain. Honestly, I don't think the McCain ad will resonate all that much in Pennsylvania. Most Pennsylvanians have no opinion about him.

A slight criticism on Biden's camp. If you are planning to spend money on TV ads, this was the event to spend the most money on. Beside the debate (where there are no commercials), this will be the most watched event of all Pennsylvanians. I'm in the Pittsburgh market. This might have worked a day or two before election day, when there would be no time for fact checking. However, in this case, this garbage will be dead in two days, but it will be an addition to the thousands of negative Trump impression that already exist. It's not going to kill his campaign, but this act, and others to come, will lessen his chances of catching Biden.

Literally, all he can do now is to lie and cheat....he has nothing else in his arsenal. Lying won't work because any person with a pulse knows that he constantly lies, and also because quick and widely disseminated fact checking will continue.

As for cheating, I think the country's ready for it, and that reality, plus a good margin of victory, will minimize the possibility. We definitely need to keep our guard up, though!
