...If you have been around a long time, you know what is coming. For better or worse Trump will go
down hard. Professionals all over know what Trump has created in the Republican Party and the disaster
coming on the evening of November 3 for that party.
....Within the Republican Party itself, the true pros know what will happen next month.
Those pros are waiting for their moment to take charge to help rebuild when Trump is totally gone. No matter what position those pros in the Republican Party hold, be it office holders, just plain politicians or donors, many of the smart ones (yes there are a few of them left in the Republican Party) know something else: To Shut The F**K UP until the time is right. This is not the time to start arguing about Trump. "The time will come the walrus said for cabbages and kings"
...The time will be sometime after November 3, and while after the dust settles.

(38,453 posts)I think some will start building the foundation within a week or so after the election. A new foundation needs
to be dug out and started, in order to get rid of the .."Trump Scum." Some of the old gang will also be gone.
Who knows who they will be? I sure don't. Some of the old gang will lose, give up, or just take a long
vacation from the show. We will see what happens when that happens. But the time for a change is
coming. We all know that, and our turn to run the show is fast approaching.

(7,865 posts)going to destroy McSally in November...as for Little Lindsey, he's reduced to begging for dollars...last week in his debate Lindsey spewed nazi crap, "If you're a young African American, you can go anywhere in this state, you just have to be conservative not liberal"..that in itself should have sparked a massive protest and a call for his resignation...and then there's Collins whining about the amount of money Gideon has in her campaign coffers and then all but calling Gideon, a 15 year resident of Maine, a carpetbagger...Mitch, Susan, Lindsey...for some inexplicable reason they don't get a US Senate seat is won by election...it's not gifted....

They looked the other way
They enabled
They cannot pretend they found trump and trumpism to be an aberration.
Those republicans that felt that way started the Lincoln Project.
The rest who kept quiet are as guilty as trump.
They cannot be allowed slink back into positions of power.
Ever.
The shame and ignominy of trump and trumpism shall forever stain them.
Complicit in sedition and anti-democracy, racism, sexism, and corruption on an unimaginable breathtaking monumental scale.
They are forever guilty.

these "professionals" knew Trump was a depraved amoral sociopath but because they hated Hillary more than they loved their country they legitimized Trump and sold him as a viable candidate...they have a shit-ton to answer for...and don't expect absolution bc it ain't gonna happen...as for the Lincoln Project: as Republican political operatives and consultants these guys bare much of the blame for the most rancid members of congress..they haven't "seen the light"...they just hate Trump more than they hate the Democrats...I will say this, their ads troll the gutter of the GOP and if anyone knows what pisses off a Republican it's the Lincoln Project ...I have no doubt the day after Joe and Kamala are inaugurated the Lincoln Project will revert back to form and take aim at our guys..I would almost be disappointed if they didn't

(19,193 posts)22 days ago, Biden's lead was 6.6 points, it's grown steadily since then to 10.6 points. So basically, the last 3 weeks have been a monumental disaster for Trump. If the next 3 weeks were just as big of a disaster for Biden, we might get back to that 6.6 point Biden lead.
The cake is in the oven! Every day a million or more people cast their votes in absentee or early voting, everyday the cake gets more baked.
Everyday that the race remains the same is a win for Biden, he doesn't need to do anything at this point, just keep working and get out the vote.
We're all still stunned from 2016, 2020 is not 2016, not even close.

(5,559 posts)In 2016, an upset was easier because of an unusually high number of undecideds and Hillary's low ceiling.
She only had one single poll from Oct onward at 52%, and nothing higher. Her average poll number never broke 47%
Joe's average is over 52% and all of the polls show few undecideds left

(293 posts)They have used race batting and xenophobia for years to fire up the Republican racists base. They thought then and they think now that they can control them. They thought they could mask this racism with the racists excuse for being racists. "Conservatism". Well its over. Trump has released the Kraken. The Republican Party is now controlled by the beasts lead by Trump today and the David Dukes of tomorrow. They don't even have to pretend anymore. All these Joe's, Ed's, Steve's of the past Republican world do not realize it, but they are out.
they were barking the moon loons the 8 years prior to 45, what with birtherism and every other bit of crazy they threw at BHO, an honorable, decent and good POTUS AND spent the prior 8 years doing nothing other than screaming half the country were terrorist enabling scumbags if we opposed whatever disaster 43 was driving us into.
The got nothing ...
Dems passed THEIR fucking form of health care and they spent the next decade running against it.
They know only one thing - cons good, libs bad.

(17,663 posts)just in case they are able to steal the election. No guts and no honor. Personally I will never for forgive any Republican for the way they have acted over the last four years.
If we win this trifecta, we need to show the Republicans that we too know how to wield power! The gloves need to come off for the Biden/Harris administration. We have got a hell of a lot of undoing to do.

And you're totally right the gloves need to come off. We have to save this country from the virus and complete economic collapse. Frankly, I can't wait for the bleating from them that we're being unfair!

(866 posts)Reminds me of a 1960s political cartoon: The time has come the walrus said to talk of many things, of cloture votes, and civil rights, and Martin Luther Kings. Cant remember if that was about LBJ (Actually, I think it was about Mike Mansfield....yeah Im old).

(46,099 posts)It's been growing since Ronald Reagan announced he "wasn't too sure about" the theory of evolution and when he addressed anti-abortion activists by phone. Before that, there was pretty good consensus that abortion was a woman's decision. So much so that addressing them in person was seen as a political risk. Hence, the phone. Also, when he said that he "knew in his heart" that he hadn't illegally supported the Contras even though the facts said otherwise.
The battle against facts and logic began with that horrid old man with the phony grin.

(36,540 posts)I completely disagree. They will be glad to be rid of Trump but go back to their obstructionist ways, count on it. We are not going back to the pre-Gingrich era. There are just too many poorly behaved republicans for that.

(22,176 posts)instead, got swallowed up by the beast.
Thank god Nov. 2020 is rapidly approaching and soon this beast will be laid to rest, and his ranting and raving will be soon over with. Enough is enough, and I think I speak for all of us that if none of us ever heard another word from the MAGA/maggot in the WH ever again, I will be forever happy.

(1,648 posts)Years of pushing has taken us. I do think that they realize they have shoved the country too far to the right and it is destroying the country within their own Party, but they are all all opportunists too and never turn down gift even if was from dirty means. They will have to watched carefully and they will have to be forced to bring something meaningful to the table, instead of the decades long repeats of years ago and going backwards.
