Cunningham up 10 in new poll of NC - 49% to 39%Link to tweet Cal Cunningham up 49%-39% over Tillis in new SurveyUSA poll. He's *improved* since the texting scandal -- he was up 7% in the last poll. Cunningham lost some ground with seniors, who I guess are used to having higher moral standards for electeds Cunningham is losing ground with women and seniors since the sexting scandal but *gaining* ground with men and young voters, per this poll. ................................ Well that is good news.

1. I didn't see that coming
Thom Tillis' TV commercials are just all about that affair. That's his only message right now. Maybe it's backfiring?

8. In a normal year he probably would be sunk I guess he had the good fortune of being a
cheating bastard in 2020. Cheating seems kinda small compared to the damage the GOP is doing with the Senate. Still I hope someone primaries he ass in 2026.

4. Could be because Tillis is facing a worse scandal.
He is tangled in a campaign money scandal.
https://www.charlotteobserver.com/opinion/editorials/article245560520.html Cunningham should hammer him on that and not let Tillis exploit his own sexting issue. Personally, I do not give a damm about consenting adults sexting each other. Its a matter between Cunningham, the other person and his wife. |

7. I definitely disapprove of his behavior, especially as it involves his wife and family, but . . .
there's still no comparison between he and Tillis when it comes to destructive behavior towards our nation and its citizens.
Cunningham can try, if he wills, to mend his relations with his wife and make of himself a better man. That's his private affair. There's no hope though for Tillis. Too much baggage there. |

He apologized for it,made a statement and refused to play the game of keeping having to apologize for it every time he is interviewed and instead redirects towards more important issues.

really want to see NC return to the blue it used to be.
Sam Ervin was a family friend, and he's rolling in his grave seeing the shennanigans of the legislature. I chose NC to write GOTV letters to via Vote Forward and have 250 (and writers cramp) ready to mail the end of this week. |

Folks may be viewing Cunningham as the lesser of 2 evils. He better hope he wins. If not he will be a pariah in NC Dem politics for the rest of his life. Shame on him for being so fucking reckless.

28. I am glad to see it
Fortunately Tillis is a horrible candidate who only is in the Senate thanks to Obama being unpopular in 2014 and Ebola hitting at the wrong time, even then he barely won. It used to be the other seat that flipped party now it is this one maybe. I won't be happy until I see Cunningham above 50 but seeing him up 10 is great.
