3. The whole concept of non-partisan career officials is lost on these morons.

I do not know enough about Gina Haspell specifically to say whether the term non-partisan applies, but in general they see any reluctance to be partisan for Trump as being partisan against him. Even sycophants like Sessions and Barr have a small and withered but still existent tether to reality. Barr knows he can't "just say" things in court like Trump "just says" things on Twitter. There remains a tiny bit of hope that the entire executive branch is not yet corrupted if the CIA head is not playing ball.
