Is this typical?

I'm all for family but this, to me, is a distraction.

Feinstein is ripping her for that.

(9,955 posts)... it's become typical. In my opinion, family is being used as a prop, here. Sen. Feinstein was brilliant in praising and having her introduce the family, then asking her questions. Republicans have said Dems are attacking her family, which she slyly included in her opening statement. In truth, who cares about her family - what matters are her views.

Disclaimer: I was raised Catholic and am now an apostate.

(42,702 posts)At the start of her testimony, RBG introduced, one by one, the following family members that were present for the occasion: her husband, her son and his girlfriend, her daughter, a nephew, her brother-in-law, her sister-in-law, her grandson and her granddaughter, her son-in-law, and a cousin. She also introduced one of her clerks and her grandchildren's au pair.
They didn't all stick around for the hearing after being introduced. I think just her husband and the grown children.
