I only wrote 70. It takes some time to hand write and hand address letters, but the vote forward big send is tomorrow. Thousands of volunteers are calling folks to get to the polls early and to vote by mail early. These letters are designed to get unlikely registered Democratic leaning voters in key states to vote November 3rd. I hope for massive early and mail-in voting and a surge of unlikely Democratic voters on November 3rd. There is a lot of hard "behind the scenes" work going on by the good guys this year.

(12,631 posts)Mine is scheduled to arrive within the week.
I hope someone thought this out. I wrote for Postcards to Voters, but we mailed them as we wrote them, 3, 5, 7 at a time each writer, over the course of weeks and months.

(171,065 posts)I think the personal touch is great; who nowadays gets a hand written letter? I got one 4 years ago and was impressed!

(104 posts)I've written postcards to NC voters through Postcards to Swing States, which will go out on the 26th. They're designed to get last minute registered D voters to the polls. It feels good to be doing something.

(2,113 posts)The postcards I wrote are going out to TX voters on the 21st. Putting my money where my mouth is to GOTV. It does feel good!

(12,154 posts)I did send letters via Vote Forward, but I love post cards and would enjoy doing that. I see they've got all 15.7 million postcards going to voters across 14 swing states! Pretty impressive.
The enthusiasm and activity this election are great. I'll definitely be getting involved again in 2022. That's going to be crucial, because Dems so often underperform in midterm years.

(12,154 posts)I sent letters to voters in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
As you know, it's a fair amount of work. But one of the most fun parts -- aside from knowing we did something to try to make a difference -- was using lots of different postage stamps. I parted with some of the John Lennon, Scenic Rivers, and other really cool stamps I've been hoarding. I even used my last Shirley Chisholm stamp, my lone Nevada statehood stamp, two of the three remaining stamps in my Rosa Parks stash, and some of the beautiful WPA Posters series.
And I bought some great new ones: the Innovation series, the 19th Amendment "Women Vote" stamps, the Wild Orchids series, and even some Bugs Bunny stamps! So some random people are going to look through their bills and junk mail to find this handwritten envelope from some weirdo with one of these:
Unfortunately the beautiful Fruits and Vegetables stamps were not in stock at either of the post offices I visited. Nor were the Harlem Renaissance series, the Ruth Asawa sculpture stamps, American Gardens, or the Enjoy the Great Outdoors series. So many great stamps these days! Obviously I need to send more snail mail.

Thank you!
