(1,623 posts)Im GMT +0 here in the U.K.
My wife and I will sit up and watch the impact of this October Voter Surprise with many snacks and much libation.
We will be on self isolation for 14 days starting next Saturday. When we emerge we might see light at the end of this dark orange tunnel. (Wait that leaves a weird context...)

(82,849 posts)Mail in ballots were returned at more than four times the rate of 2016 (3,000+ in 2016, 13,000+ this year). Considering most people got their ballots no earlier than Wednesday, that's pretty good. Our ballots are being dropped off today.

This blue wave is gonna be a red undertow.

(24,731 posts)My dad served in WWII with John Ossoff's grandfather (?). He used to tell us about Hy Ossoff, who he served with.
I sent John some $$!!
Best wishes to you!

(24,565 posts)Mine is ruby red, but Biden/Harris signs are everywhere, people are on the street near polls waving signs, and there are actually lines to vote...unheard of in this rural area. Go Joe!

(12,155 posts)I'm not letting myself get carried away, but it sure looks like this could be historic. Fingers crossed!
I'm in DeKalb County, and plan to get cracking on some virtual GOTV efforts starting next week. Just having Georgia in the conversation as a potential swing state is so encouraging, don't you think?

(24,565 posts)I am in Towns county in the mountains just below NC. Rural, redneck, and religious. To see all the Biden/Harris signs brings tears to my eyes. I don't trust Kemp an inch, but if we have massive GOTV, they can't steal it.

(53,061 posts)Numerous reports came in showing huge Dem advantage in early voting.
Mitchell tried pouring water on it "well how do we know they aren't cannibalizing their own vote?"
An analyst said that the data is showing a consistent 15-20% of the early Democratic votes were from voters who didn't vote in 2016.
Mitchell smug patronizing look morphed into a gobsmacked "how dare you take my talking point away, now I have nothing to say".
Didn't know the analyst but she seemed well informed.
