exactly how I took this shitshow today. Exactly.
He professionalized it.

Essentially, it was all a power play by trump. Just sowing chaos. As expected.

WTH are you talking about?
If you cant post a link or give some context it is not meaningful.

(25,519 posts)often seem to expect context? I don't remember that in years past.
I guess it's an assumption that we are all reading, keeping up with the news. We come here to discuss, not to pre-digest the news for members?

(7,079 posts)Asking for some context isnt asking for too much, its not about a piece of printed news.
Implying the community is increasingly uninformed because someone posted asking you for context was an unfair insult on the community. Not necessary.
Esp considering how many shit shows occur each day nowadays

(27,204 posts)I look at DU this morning and everyone's discussing the Giuliani thing (my morning is late afternoon/evening U.S. time). But nobody says exactly what that is. I click OP after OP and still don't know. It's just "the Giuliani thing." I give up and Google it and finally find out the context. It wouldn't take much for a short explanation. And I have to wait until things are posted online, don't have U.S. tv -- that often takes time, sometimes I can't find it.

(1,789 posts)I get that your point was that what was said on a show was a professionally put version of what you said somewhere or thought. You didn't need to do much to provide a modicum of context, just say what it was you thought that the show backed up. You don't have to predigest the news, just point toward which news. Like I said, not everyone sees every show or reads every post the minute they go live. And these days, there is a lot of news to pick from.

(147,188 posts)TV all the time. If you comment on something you saw on TV, it is incumbent on you to provide some context, so we at least know the basics of what you saw, who said it and what was said.
Otherwise, we have no clue whatsoever about what you are discussing. That's not helpful in any way.

(1,178 posts)Each and every day these next 2 weeks we're going to continually see the Trump team coming up with ways to cloud the legitimacy of the election results, in the hopes the Supreme Court will get involved. And if that doesn't work, he's wanting his base to become unleashed with the thoughts that the election was stolen from them.

(25,519 posts)This ain't that hard.
Read it, if you like it, if not, move on.
No need to derail and make such a big issue of it.
Seems a little grievance-y to me.

(13,434 posts)reluctance to give even a minimal amount of context is rude. You want us to pay attention but cant take the trouble to explain what its even about?

(15,952 posts)dont watch much TV, because my knee is making it difficult to do stairs all day long. At the end of the day, I avoid going up to our second floor, which is where the TV is. I spend a lot of my stair-time going down to my basement for various reasons and just dont have it in me to go up to the second floor just to sit down and watch TV.
So I very much appreciate when folks form a bit of context around their posts. I dont know who the guy was on Maddow. Id love to know but frankly I cant just go turn on the TV.
