|Michael Bays Covid-Inspired Songbird Trailer Shows the World Ravaged by Pandemic
A mutated strand of coronavirus called COVID-23 wreaks havoc on the world in Songbird, produced by Michael Bay.
On Thursday, the first trailer for the pandemic thriller showed a world trapped in lockdown for four years, reaching 8.4 million deaths in a single year. The movie takes place in 2024 and stars K.J. Apa and Sofia Carson, who play a couple separated by the pandemic and living under martial law. Apas character claims to be immune from the virus, which may help him as he searches for his girlfriend, who is forced to evacuate her apartment after her neighbor contracts the virus.
Its a dystopian, scary world, but its a romantic movie about two people who want to be together, but they cant, director Adam Mason told Entertainment Weekly. Its Romeo and Juliet, but theyre separated by her front door and by the virus.

I like Michael Bay movies. They tend to be fun or take you away from reality -even the scary ones, you can enjoy a good time at the movies seeing one of his films. The Transformers Series, Nightmare on Elm Street, Armageddon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
He dropped the ball on this. Nobody wants a Covid movie this soon. Granted it won't be out till next year, but even then, it will still be fresh in our minds even if things calm down. Bad idea

(25,861 posts)it's depicting a kind of complete and total lockdown that would have people starving to death inside their apartments. And, if this version of the virus is that terrible, where do they find the people to do the rounding up those infected and putting them in some kind of camps?

I hope they aren't trying to say, this is what happen when you go to lockdown.
