Warren has expressed interest in being Biden's Treasury secretary

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has expressed interest in serving as Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s Treasury secretary if he defeats President Trump in next week’s race for the White House, Politico reported, citing three unnamed Democratic officials. “She wants it,” two of the officials told the outlet.

The Treasury Department is set to play a pivotal role for Americans amid the economic hits from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Politico reported that Warren will make her case for the role if Biden wins the presidential election. Other potential candidates for the Treasury secretary include Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard; former Treasury Department official Sarah Bloom Raskin; and Roger Ferguson, former Federal Reserve vice chairman and current TIAA CEO.

Another Democratic source told Politico that if Warren is not nominated to be the Treasury secretary under the potential Biden administration, she would seek a seat on the Senate Finance Committee.

Charlie Baker gets to fill the seat until a special election, then if he decides to run he’ll most likely win, he’s very popular here. No matter how moderate he acts, he’s a Republican.

10. There is no changing "the rules". The senate doesn't get to decide.

The states decide and the state says the governor appoints a replacement.

Senators in Republican controlled states should be on the "sorry automatic no" list.

If Baker tries to appoint a R, the legislature will just change the rules so they can pick. I bet Joe Kennedy will run for her seat and win. Baker is popular, but not enough to get voted to federal level. He won’t beat Joe Kennedy

Then if not Warren, Kamala. Harris got the VP and Warren had better get her pick of positions in the Biden era. She is too good, too smart, too progressive, too caring, too be denied a plum spot. Treasury would be great.

One thing I wish she'd go after in time is our money disappearing into the Pentagon. Trillions unaccounted for. Dark dangerous projects which Eisenhower warned of the "military–industrial–congressional complex." There appears to be ultra secretive fiefdoms absconding money doing stuff which must be ended and then made public. Trillions is real money which should be going to America betterment not some military contracts super secret operations, no-bid, off the books and endanging us all.
