Ivanka Trump violated federal law 8 times in 48 hours, so we wrote a post calling her out.
The following week, she violated the same law 11 times.
The week after that she violated it another 19 times.
How's that for "law and order"?

(5,397 posts)Or is it a case of 'Yeah, I know, but it's inconvenient so I choose to ignore it. Anyhow, Daddy says it doesn't apply to us, because we are special!'
Yep, special, but not in a nice way.

(2,312 posts)Having lived in Colorado for 27 years, I miss the aroma of roasting chiles on a crisp autumn morning. Not a lot of that here in the Midwest.

(14,757 posts)There are no criminal penalties, only disciplinary measures carried out by the executive branch at the discretion of the president.
So who would put a law in place to stop a practice that would only help the one person they put in charge of punishment?

(10 posts)Not sure the Hatch Act has teeth anymore. I do know 1 thing. If I was President Biden, I would get the House and Senate to draw up a new voters rights act the very first week of the new congress, and hopefully with both house and senate under Democrat control, it gets passed, then GET THOSE KIDS OUT OF THOSE CAGES.....

(8,200 posts)Local and state elections have been targeted by the Republicans especially by local churches that can control the elections because of low voter turnout. I have attended two fundamentalists churches and watched the control that the pastors had over the members. It was absolutely lockstep compliance if you wanted to be accepted. The first question that I was asked was if I supported the Republicans against the Democrats who were ungodly, unpatriotic bastards that are intent on leading the nation to damnation.
