The strangest thing about this election is

that, with the worst President to ever fill the job, that the election is competitive at all.

That it will be competitive is an indication of what a serious danger our Representative Democracy is in. Electing Biden will give us some time to catch our breath, but it will not cure what is deeply wrong with our nation. We are no longer one people or one nation. The virus has shown us just how deeply divided we are. In days past, confronting such a danger would have brought us together, as one, to face and defeat the crisis. We are living in the most dangerous time since our Civil War. We are rotting from the inside.

Coke or Pepsi?

It really doesn't matter, does it? You stop for lunch, ask for one, but get the other. Doesn't matter. You'll drink it.

The media tells us it's close. It doesn't matter. You'll take it. But this isn't the neighborhood deli that has one or the other. This is the supermarket. You have a choice. It does matter.

Don't let them diminish the importance of your vote.

Yes, I don't drink Coke.

I hate Coke.

If they don't have Pepsi, I drink coffee or water.

My suggestion for changing the horse race narrative was to look at it not as something you readily accept which ever way it goes, but to recognize that you do have a choice. Take that choice and take it decisively, as you clearly showed in your reply.

but lower taxes, we are not dealing with genius's that are voting for accomplishments but for a vile attitude.

Open bigotry. I am convinced that that is his biggest draw with his people.

As a child of the early 50s, I thought that by the time I gained majority status that the most of that was behind us. (old hippie dreams) It wasn't and it isn't. It has been multiplying and fermenting in closets all over the country waiting for a Trump to set it free again. There is more and worse, waiting for permission. A significant portion of our population would be more than happy to participate in a pogram that would include all of the groups that they find to be undesirable; not white enough, not Christian enough and not conservative enough.
