Aviation Enthusiasts: Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! 747SP Damaged/totalled owned by...

Big time Trumpy donor and owner of The Las Vegas Sands, Sheldon Adelson.

Adelson owns two of the 7 remaining airworthy 747SP's and one of them was recently damaged, and likely totaled in an accident inside a hangar at an Arizona repair facility.

Seems they were moving airplanes around and the wing of one sliced open the front of the fuselage, forward of the nose landing gear.

That'll ruin your day!

They are cool aircraft though. Stubby little suckers!

Of course, I shed no tears for Adelson, who basically owns his own small airline to move high rollers to his casinos. It is also reported he is looking to unload The Sands, probably because business has flat-lined due to the pandemic.

Here's both of the SP's and an Airbus A340 behind, at McCarran in Vegas.

Insurance settlement plus his pocket change will replace it.
Unfortunately, it's that simple.

Hard to believe anyone capable of moving a large plane could be so incompetent. What are the odds of it making the plane a total loss? Like they knew exactly where to gouge it for the maximum possible damage.

But those were nice planes. When Terminal 2 still existed at LAS, I had a fantastic view of those planes right across the tarmac. I loved watching those things take off.

Now, he can probably sell them to Allegiant. Allegiance fakes its maintenance logs enough that no one will notice the gaping hole in the fuselage.

for damages.

Sort of like if your car were in the shop and they did something stupid. You wouldn't be paying, they would be.
