needs a reminder to vote? I've make calls and done door knocking for a lot of campaigns, and the data this year is not nearly as good as in 2008, 2012, or 2016. Biden's Thru Talk dialer has never worked right. Now we're making calls one by one because the dialer can't--doesn't--load info about polling places. It's inefficient. They spend many millions on this data and the dialer system. It's supposed to be reliable. I've also spent entire shifts in which 90% of the calls are wrong numbers.

My nephew is a legislative aid for a state senator. He looked me up on the Dem database, and I was ranked in the category for the most reliable Dem voters. In 2016, I never got a call other than an organizer signing me up to volunteer. This year, despite the fact I've been volunteering for months, I get texts asking if I've turned in my ballot. (I voted in Sept). That is bad data. The data was bad in 2004, and we know what happened then. I will say that Biden has a far stronger ground presence than Kerry ever did. The problem is we are left with phone calls only because of COVID. That makes data all the more important.

It's not just going through the alphabet. They are supposed to know your voting habits, consumer habits, history of involvement with the party, etc... I get calling Republicans and independents, but not reliable Dems.

Maybe the person doesn’t know when the election is for some reason. Maybe they will end up needing a ride, curbside ballot, or the address for a new polling location. Contacting reliable voters is exactly the right thing to do. Persuasion is just about over.

We do virtually no persuasion calls. GOTV needs to be focused on the people who need a nudge to vote or information about where or how to vote. The most reliable Dem voters should NEVER be called because it's a waste of time. If there data doesn't tell them they have a frequently voting Dem, that is a problem. This isn't randomly going through the phone book. They pay many millions for data that is supposed to identify voters by party affiliation, voting history, consumer habits, etc...
