Trump Insanity hitting all time highs here

I’ve posted before that I live in a deeep red community that has many more churches than stop lights. It’s been bad enough the hundreds of yard signs and flags for months. Then every Monday for the past 6 weeks they’ve gathered up town waiving Trump flags along the main drag through town. But this weekend the crazy has hit a 12 out of 10 here. Starting yesterday and then for the past 90 minutes straight there’s been a caravan of close to 100 cars decked out in their Trump flags making laps around town honking their horns the whole time. Now you can imagine in a town of population 6000 with 4 stoplights this causes massive headaches getting anywhere.
I look around at the insanity and it’s frightening. I saw a car with a several thousand dollar wrap of Trump on his car. This isn’t mere fandom of a president, this is worship. A big circle jerk of trump fanboys in their trucks burning up their gas when he’ll win 70-30 here.

There was a "Trump rally" in my small town in NJ. Loud, rude, argumentative etc. at the intersection of our two main streets. This is not the way people in our little bedroom community act - not even at sports events. These yahoos were imported from elsewhere.

The rise of all despots to power is fueled by fearful, irrational, better than you, bully followers.

I blame the propaganda that has been available without disclaimers over mass media. Misleading and gas-lighting our neighbors and those who trust that they are not being lied to, is a very bad and hurtful thing in a free democratic society.

I have been for reinstating the Fairness doctrine.

The fairness doctrine of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, was a policy that required the holders of broadcast licenses to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was—in the CFC's view—honest, equitable, and balanced. The FCC eliminated the policy in 1987 and removed the rule that implemented the policy from the Federal Register in August 2011.[1]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FCC_fairness_doctrine#:~:text=The%20fairness%20doctrine%20of%20the,honest%2C%20equitable%2C%20and%20balanced.

They spend about two hours or so circling around on the main roads, honking and yelling.

The bitch of it is the crowds that line the sidewalks cheering them on.

It draws such a crowd that food trucks set up in the bank parking lot.
