Stop watching the polls

We did that in 2016. We all KNEW that Hillary was going to win. And it blew up in our faces.

Stop watching those fucking polls. If you haven't voted yet, get your ass out there and do it. If you know people who haven't voted, drive them to the voting place, bus them there, take a cab, or use wheelchairs. Just make sure they vote. The bigger the win for Joe and Kamala, the better shot we have at stopping this election from being stolen.

Trump and his criminal party are and will do anything and everything to steal this election. We must do anything and everything to not let that happen.

Time we pulled out all the stops. If we lose, we will be subjects of King Trump forever, or at least until he plotzes, and then one of his moron sons will inherit his throne. That's not what this country is. That's not who we are.

This is the most important election in the history of America, (except for 1860, when Abraham Lincoln was elected and it began the Civil War).

Two days from now, we may be looking at the start of another Civil War, but this time it will be neighbor against neighbor. Joe and Kamala are our best chance at avoiding Civil War II. And, yes, there will be crazies out there with guns. But they are a minority of crazies who can and will be jailed, or who will go home and ... do whatever it is they do when they're not trying to overthrow America.

But, again, just stop watching those polls. Stop. For your own sanity.

It may take a while (a while beyond Tuesday) but we're going to win this and we're going to win it big. This time, we're onto the fascist pricks and they are not going to steal America from us. Again.

2. I was watching the polls and as I result, I *didn't* think Hillary was a lock.

538 had it roughly 65/35 just a few days before the election and 71/29 in their final.

Had I not been watching them, I probably would have accepted the conventional wisdom that she couldn't lose. Instead, I was extremely worried. Nate Silver noted that Trump had a real chance and probably had momentum that wouldn't reflect in the final polls.

5. The problem is 538 was insensitive to momentum and Hillary was in freefall

After Comey capped her 7 days before Election Day.

Nor did my mom, who died just after the buffoon was sworn in.

I was attacked here for being "concerned" so I quit posting during that time.

Hoping things will turn out better this time.

10. Everyone keeps saying that, and of course it's not.

But it matters not in terms of worry and anxiety.

Voting and GOTV. If we do what we did in 2018, by 10pm, biden will be name presumptive winner 1 minute after California polls close

And I look at the crosstabs and for trumpy outliers there is usually a glaring flaw to be found.

Also looks like the bullshit factory dumped another triaxle load of slanted polls

The majors (with perhaps two exceptions) have stopped their national polling and are only hitting a few critical states. They will, at best, reflect a 1.0 to 1.5 percent change, within the margin of error. I expect Trifalger and Rasmussen to drop a few really cruddy polls to muddy the water, but at this point, they are being factored out. These polls are there to justify dirty tricks, nothing else.

This may be the start of CWII - the GOP is facing an existential moment, and if they lose here, it will likely be a decade or more before they can recover, with very different players and different goals. The GOP as it exists today needs to be buried, but it will not go softly into the night.

My stress level seems to go up (no doubt along with my blood pressure, just what I need) when I look at polls. The ones with good news are nice, but the ones that show a tie stress me. And I know they have no idea. It's not science, it's conjecture mixed with some responses from phone calls to people who could very well be lying.

Without a leader, those crazies are going to be a bit in limbo. Also, I believe they are bullies at heart, and bullies are cowards. Right now they are hiding in their pickup trucks bullying people on the highways. Where will they bully with their trucks when voting is over? The mall parking lot? In front of the library? Karen will no longer be a politically-sanctioned bigot, she will just be a crazy lady yelling on the street and embarrassing herself and her family.

I believe we will win because I believe that the majority of Americans are decent and moral. The good people outnumber the bad. We got this.

And I will stop looking at polls!
