As some of you might recall on election day in 2016, DU was hit with multiple cyberattack (I assume DDOS attacks) that day and made the site inoperable for most users. I assume DU IT team is working hard to prevent any reoccurrence, however, nothing is ever guarantee so we might expect the same old shenanigains. Be prepared if this site goes down tomorrow.

(17,802 posts)Sure, it will be annoying, but won't impact a single vote.
It won't ruin my good time, or like in '16, make me feel any worse.
It doesn't really matter.

(7,715 posts)but this kind of post is even worse than "I am afraid about tomorrow." We might as well be posting that "an asteroid or whatever hit the earth 10s of millions of years ago and wiped out the dinosaur population, and it too could happen tomorrow."
If folks have a concern about this, let them write directly to the Admins to assuage their concerns, not create more unsubstantiated fear.
I have full faith in the Admins and MIRT. On top of that, DU is also on other platforms, I believe.
We are all a bit jittery, myself included. I do genuinely appreciate that. Folks are free to post what they want, but let it at least be helpful or raise specific issues.

(7,715 posts)To the OP: I meant no disrespect. We are all on edge, but ALL of us learned something from the last years, and we are prepared!
Case in point: J&K's campaign has been flawless. AFAIK, there have no crisis, real or created, that they weren't on top of IMMEDIATELY.

I would assume the answer is yes.
