for the past weeks that it is likely that Trump will have a good showing in the beginning, but it is likely to level out and fade as mail in ballots are counted?

This is exactly the scenario that we were warned not to lose hope over. People were concerned that Trump would declare himself winner based on early favorable votes, but when all votes are counted, he will no longer have the lead.

I heard a PA election official earlier today saying that they will not have a count on mail ins until Friday.

now have Democratic governors, AGs, and secretaries of states, Joy Ann Reid just said. The governors of Wisconsin and Michigan won't let Trump do some of what he did in 2016. They kept the Green Party off the ballot in Wisconsin and in Pennsylvania, so that's helpful.

Pennsylvania still has a Democratic governor. Some other places that now have Democratic governors are Nevada, New Mexico, Illinois, Kansas (Kansas!), and Maine.
